I've just finished knitting some snowy white yarn into sweet little pouches, I think they will make original wedding favour keepsakes to hold sugared almonds.
I like the symbolism of the 5 Almonds given to guests at wedding receptions. Each almond has a specific meaning - Health, Wealth, Happiness, Long Life or Fertility.
I smile to think how the bitterness of the almond and the sweetness of the coated candy are meant to reflect the bitter sweetness of a marriage!
They would make lovely bags for the bridesmaids thank you gifts too
I can just imagine them with a special little gift in them. Maybe a delicate pair of earrings from Tatania Rose
or a personalised necklace from Simply Stated
I'm busy finishing some matching purses and handbags too. It makes me wish I had a wedding to go to myself!!

What a fantastic idea... I loved almonds as a child... my gran always had a jar next to her bed and I use to sneak in and very naughtily pinch them.... when I was about 16 one christmas after granny had passed away my mum dad and brothers were all telling funny stories about gran... my brother commented how funny it was that my gran always got given sugered almonds for christmas but she hated the almonds spitting them into the jar next to her bed.... ARGGGGGGGGGG ! hence I no longer eat almonds! lol

WOW! I don't know how you manage to keep it staying so white. If I got my sticky fingers on it, it would soon turn a chocolate brown colour.
