Taking some time out

I've been busy knitting all week, making more bags for the next craft show, and making bags for customers orders from the last event.
It was only after I had pegged out my latest set of felted bags on the washing line to dry that I took a moment to look

not at how many I'd made  or if the colours are quite right
or whether the sizes are what I'm going to need.

I remembered to actually see what was in front of me,
To look at how fun they appear hanging in the sun in my beloved but sadly neglected garden.
and I remembered why I live this crazy crafting life.
after all

  1. So very true and I love your bags... if you have hand felted all those bags your arms must be broken... such beautiful creations... if only people were fully aware of the time and hard work involved making them...

I am trying to stop and stare at something each day... this morning Daniel and I went to Tintinhull house Gardens (National Trust) and we sat on a step and ate a jam sandwich.... such a lovely place to sit and stare... lol

good luck with your next fayre...

  2. I love your bags!!! I crochet...forgive me for asking a stupid question, but felting is a form of crochet, isn't it?

  3. Hi Jennifer,
I think the only stupid questions are the ones we don't ask!
And yes, you are quite right in that any knitting or crochet done with pure handwash yarn will felt. I've seen some stunning crocheted and felted flowers around.

About Me

My Photo
. I love to create, always have... even as a child I was always up to my ears in fabric, yarn, paper and glue. So now I create bags, the process I use developed over time, and is still changing, each new wool or design presents it's own challenge. So I don't get bored. Craft Shows are so much fun, meeting folk, both customers and other crafters. I always get such a buzz when we are setting up and a plain old marquee or hall gets transformed into an arcade of interesting creations.
